“New Antiviral Drug Has the Potential to Stop COVID-19” | The Jerusalem Post

Zyon Ayni - The Jerusalem Post

Codivir, a drug used to treat HIV with a direct antiviral effect on coronavirus, was featured in an article in the Jerusalem Post. The goal, according to Code Pharma CEO and founder Zyon Ayni, is to complete the trial in three to six months and then immediately apply for emergency use authorization of the drug.

Ayni said to The Jerusalem Post: “We saw complete elimination of the virus in 90% to 100% of cells in less than 24 hours. There were no significant side effects from the treatment itself. One hospital there started administering it to COVID-19 patients, too, and they got completely better – some in hours and some in days. The world is in need of an antiviral medication against COVID”.
